Community Treatment Center

Our Community Treatment Center offers unique programs for men who have recently been released from prison, or who have been referred locally by their supervising parole or probation officer.  In-house programming focuses on anger management, cognitive behavior, computer training, and parenting skills.  Residents are assisted in securing employment; and many are required to participate in our substance abuse education & treatment programs.  Electronic Monitoring Services are also available.

Through innovative individualized case management, we've helped thousands of men secure employment, re-build relationships with their families, and learn to live sober, all of which contribute to a successful re-entry into their local community.

Returning Home

The Returning Home program is a cooperative effort between Volunteers of America Northwest Ohio, the Corporation for Supportive Housing, and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.  The population served by this program is persons leaving prison who have been identified as homeless or at risk with a disability such as mental illness, alcohol /chemical dependence, physical disability, and/or have experienced chronic unemployment.  Individuals with a severe mental illness must be stable and compliant with their treatment and medication regiment.

Housing is provided in scattered site apartments and supportive services are provided by Volunteers of America Northwest Ohio case managers and supportive service staff who are experienced in serving individuals with a history of incarceration, chemical dependency, and mental illness.  Referrals for the Returning Home program are initiated by the Bureau of Community Sanctions.
