Community Enhancement

Food Pantry

Food and other grocery products are distributed to individuals and families living in Sandusky, Ohio and surrounding area.  Income eligibility guidelines, established by the local food bank are used.  Hours of operation vary.

Scholastic Books

Working collaboratively with Scholastics, the largest publisher and distributor of childrens' books, thousands of books, games, and crafts are made available to eligible children.  The goal of the program is to foster literacy.

Helpmates

Each year, more than 125 volunteers share their God-given talents to bring comfort and warmth to shut-ins, veterans, children, and anyone else who needs a touch of compassion during the holiday season.  These volunteers knit, crochet, sew, and collect scarves, mittens, hats, gloves, and socks to give to others, regardless of their income.

Christmas Cheer

Christmas is a tremendously uplifting time of year when hundreds of people from the community freely share the Spirit of Christmas.  Hundreds of people provide gifts, toys, and clothing for children whose family may not be able to afford things like a new coat or shoes.

Christmas Food Baskets

Each year, more than 1,600 individuals and families receive Christmas food baskets.  Volunteers assist in packing food baskets, collecting canned goods, and delivering food baskets to those who are elderly or disabled.
